We were entertained by the group of students visiting from Colombia for the World Children’s Theatre Festival. Juan Paulo and the drummer, Fillipé, spent time with our class for gym and nutrition break. They are awesome dodgeball and soccer players!!
So proud of these kids who not only dressed LOUD but brought in lots of money for a good cause. Several students added money they had brought to buy ‘smencils’ when they heard the items were sold out. Way to go grade 4/5!
Although I love living in Canada, one of my favourite places on earth is Ireland. Two years ago I visited the ’emerald isle’ over March Break. The draw was my daughter, Olivia, who was working there for a year but who could not fall in love with the beautiful landscape and wonderful people?! I will definitely return.
Sitting in a lounge chair sipping an ice-cold beverage on a Sanibel Island, I laid my head back and looked up at this palm tree loaded with coconuts and I knew I had to get a shot of it for my day nine unique angle post. I didn’t feel I needed to do anything to edit or enhance this picture…Mother Nature did a wonderful job all on her own! I’ll be going back there someday. I would highly recommend it as a relaxing spot to visit.
My Mom inspires me! She loved life and enjoyed creating memories with her family and friends although she did not set out to do so…it just happened naturally. When things were not going particularly well, she would remind me “this, too, shall pass”. I think of her every day and miss her so much but am so thankful for my memories which continue to inspire me!
This picture was taken just a couple of weeks before she passed away….Thanksgiving at my Aunt’s. Everyone had their photo taken holding this frame. Fond memories. It’s a little blurry as I took a picture of the photo!
I love to scrapbook! I find it relaxing and I often get together with friends to create pages and albums. I like the creativity that is involved and reliving memorable events with family and friends. It is especially satisfying watching my daughters enjoy looking through their albums.
I used a circular blurring feature on the photo editing app called Photo Editor.
Mmmmmmm! From any angle, this luscious red watermelon looks delicious. I love it’s sweet watery taste any time of the year but it is the best on a warm summer day.
I used a Piccollage template to show the several shots of my favourite food.
Babies make me smile! I love cuddling them. At family gatherings I am often accused of being a ‘baby hog’ because I hold the newest members of our family longer than anyone else. This is a photo I took on Family Day of one of my favourite babies – my niece and goddaughter. She is a toddler now and still makes me smile!
I love the look of the trees on my street in winter when they are covered with soft, fluffy snow, glistening ice, or hoar frost. This picture was taken at the end of February after a thaw and as the rain was turning to freezing rain. I used an app called Phito Editor to crop out the advertising sign on a lawn then used a filter to modify the colour.
On Monday February 29, Ms. Yantzi’s Grade 6 and Mrs. Steven’s Grade 4/5 classes learned excellent ideas about photography from Mindy Gough. Students asked excellent questions and actively participated in the workshop. With a handout to take home for reference, students should have some great shots posted on their 10 Day Photo Challenge over the next two weeks. Thanks Mindy!
