Amphibians, Reader’s Theatre, Campfire Songs!

This week in science we are studying amphibians.  Amphibians are often confused with reptiles.  There are some important differences though, and we made Venn Diagrams to compare

Reader’s Theatre is a fun way to practice reading fluently.  It is like being in a play because it involves several people who take turns speaking.  The difference is that you do not have to memorize your lines or do any acting.  You just use your voice.  We tried a reader’s theatre script that included our whole class today: The Farm Field Trip

Speaking of farms, the poem we printed perfectly today for the Listowel Fair contest is about planting seeds:

We copied one last last spelling list into planners.  These C words say ssss
nice
twice
race
dance
pencil
ice
price
slice
city
face

Music this week has a special theme! Today we learned”Take me out to the Ball Game” and “Swimming, Swimming”

Take me out to the Ballgame
Take me out to the ballgame,
Take me out to the fair.
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks,
I don’t care if I never get back,
For it’s root, root, root for the home team,
If they don’t win it’s a shame.
For it’s one, two, three strikes you’re out
At the old ballgame.
Swimming, Swimming
Swimming, swimming in my swimming pool.
When days are hot, when days are cold in my swimming pool.
Breaststroke, sidestroke, fancy diving too!
Don’t you wish you never had anything else to do?
But..
